DO YOU LIVE IN VIRGINIA? Or are you going to be in Virginia on the 1st of January, 2009? Because if you are, then you might be interested in attending MAGfest – a two day festival dedicated to celebrating videogame culture and videogame music in particular. According to the official website (which I linked in the previous sentence), all sorts of neato people are going to be there, including Richard Jacques, Tommy Tallarico, Jake “virt” Kaufman, and George "The Fat Man" Sanger. And as if that wasn’t enough, there will also be the world’s first live performance of METROID METAL.

HOLY SHIT.
Don’t take this the wrong way, but I would happily murder each and every one of you if it meant I could see METROID METAL performed live. So, with that in mind, if there are any Faustian demons reading that are interested in making a deal for my immortal soul, then by all means, drop me a line and we’ll talk. (This also goes for anyone who is attending and interested in doing a write-up for us.)
SPEAKING OF METROID: Unbelievably gorgeous Metroid fan-game, Metroid SR388, now has an official website. If you like Metroid and haven’t heard of SR388 before now, then here: give your eyeballs an orgasm. Make sure they don’t quiver out of their sockets, though! You will need them to cry with later on when Nintendo inevitably shuts the project down for copyright infringement.
GOG BANNERS: Regular visitors to the site who aren’t using ad-blocking software will have noticed that we’re now displaying banners for GOG.com. These are not normal ads: we don’t get any money if you click on them. However, we DO get money if you click on them and then buy one of the games they’re advertising. So, if you’ve been meaning to play the original Fallouts, what with the new one out now and everything, then please do us a favour and buy them from GOG via Eegra. Not only will it help us, but it’ll help GOG, which is an excellent service, and it’ll help you, because you’ll be getting one (or more) of the best RPGs ever made for less than 10 bucks a pop. I know this sounds a bit tacky, but the truth is we need to make money to survive, and we’d like to do it in a way that benefits everyone involved. So there you go.
INCIDENTALLY: If you are using ad-blocking software, please put us on your whitelist. Or if you don’t want to do that (for whatever reason), then maybe buy a shirt or zine instead. If you don’t want to do either of those things, well then, I dunno what to say. Good job being a parasite, I guess. |
HEY YOU! Do you like... MUSIC?
If you answered, "Yes, except for blue-eyed American a capella singers doing pissweak versions of Christmas carols with smug grins on their stupid faces," then THIS IS AN ARTICLE FOR YOU.
(It's about videogame music arrangements.)
