| Step 8. Bake!
Put it all in the oven on 150 degrees Celsius. You can do the Fahrenheit conversion. Bake for 15-20 minutes. Your cookies will not turn ‘golden brown’, because these aren’t normal cookies. They’re shortbread. Provided that you didn’t make your cookies super thick, 15 minutes should be enough. If you used plain flour instead of wholemeal, your cookies will be slightly lighter in colour than mine. They will also be slightly lower in fibre. THINK OF YOUR BOWELS!

Step 9. Decorate!
The cookies will be really easy to break apart, so even if they do stick together when they bake, you can snap them apart quite easily.
Cut a small triangle of baking paper and place it in the middle of one of your cookies, like so.

Dust the entire cookie with icing sugar. You may need to use a sift to ensure even distribution. I used one of those tea filter things.

Remove the little triangle of baking paper and…

WOWZERS! IT’S A TRIFORCE!

Pac-Men don’t really need decorating. They look good on their own.

If you’re feeling ambitious and have more dough left over, you can make some letters and spell out the name of your favourite website in the world! THE BUREAU OF METEOROLOGY! No, I mean…

Makes: 21 Triforce cookies, 12 small Pac-Men, 1 big Pac-Man, 3 Pac-Man dots, 1 large Weighted Companion Cube, 7 triangle off-cuts.
You can keep the shortbread for about a week or two if you store it in an airtight container. Don’t eat all of it at once or you might get a heart attack. If you die of poisoning, it’s not my fault. Enjoy! Page << 1 2 3 4 |
