Last month, Eegra ran a reader survey to finally end the debate that has had gamers angrily biting one another’s faces like wild hogs, almost since the dawn of gaming itself: If every videogame character ever created – past, present and future – met in a furious melee of bloodthirsty gladiatorial combat, who would be the most orange?

We took nominations on our forums and by email, then ran three rounds of preliminary polls to narrow the competition down to twenty characters, for our final poll. And now the votes are in and counted; the gamers of the world have spoken! We have a result, and there’s no going back. Who are the ten most orange videogame characters? And who has been crowned, by the popular vote, Orangest?
