ALLEY CAT

Ahh, Alley Cat. Everybody remembers that lovable scamp, Scrittens, and his hilarious misadventures in the slum apartments of what we assume was an Eastern European ghetto. But who remembers Finkle, tiny goldfish and unwitting victim of Scrittens' mischief? He didn't amount to much in this game, old Finkle.

But what's this? That's right, Finkle returns for his close-up in Big Bass Fishing! Turns out he wasn't a mere goldfish afterall. Seems it's out of the frying pan... and straight back in! Ho-ho. 

LADYBUG

 Old ColecoVision favourite Lady Bug was the stomping ground for this uproarious pair of happy-go-lucky skulls. As the giant arrows make plain, they were pretty easy to miss, unfortunately.

Tim Schafer, however, is a man with an eye for talent, which is why he placed these two in prime position for some serious drama and charming character development in LucasArts' Grim Fandango. Who is whose bitch now, little Ladybug?

ROBOCOD

Nobody paid much attention to the cake in the colourful Amiga game, Robocod. Even the tap and the globe turned more heads.

But it was only a matter of time before the world was ready for dessert.

Oh yes, that's right! From small beginnings to internet sweetheart! Nobody will ever, ever, ever get tired of Portal's cake and the absolutely freaking hilarious joke – what was it again? Something about a pie? No, I'm kidding of course. That joke will live on and be funny forever.

FROGGER

Although Terrance the truck always had his eye on fame and fortune, all he ever amounted to in Frogger was driving around in an infinite loop while that obnoxious little toad leaped circles around him. All hoppity-hoppity, smug look on his ugly green face... it was enough to drive a truck insane with rage...

And so, a new coat of paint and an advertising contract later, Terrance is ready to put his pent-up anger to good use in Grand Theft Auto IV. Just look at him shine with his brand new grill, ready for whatever the road or the sidewalk has to throw at him! Ha ha, watch out world (and watch out, little frog!).
