Publisher of the critically acclaimed (but sadly underappreciated) Motocross Jump X and Shooting in the City, Kolkom International has long been a force to be reckoned with in the mobile game arena. So when we heard that Kolkom (in conjunction with developer Newave) acquired the rights to produce a mobile game based on the revered Sand Storm comic franchise, well – we could barely contain our frothing demand!

Undoubtedly the best comic starring an ancient Egyptian princess since Shinji Murukama’s acclaimed manga, Egyptian Eyes: Reckoning B, Sand Storm is a perfect fit for a videogame makeover. Princess Anumari is a consummate protagonist: sexy, smart, intelligent, hot, and beautiful, she’s every man’s dream, and every woman’s nightmare! Imagine if Sue Storm, She-Hulk, and Elena from Street Fighter III had some smokin’ hot lesbian sex and somehow had a baby, and then the baby grew up – that’s Princess Anumari in a nutshell. Think we’re exaggerating? Then just take a look at this official character art:

But a hottie lead-character isn’t the only thing Sand Storm Revelations: The Official Mobile Game (SSR:TOMG) has going for it. True to Kolkom’s reputation for outstanding quality, gameplay in this baby is going to be a top-notch mixture of traditional beat-em-up and side-scrolling action, with just a dash of RPG goodness thrown in for good measure. And in addition to the single-player mode, SSR:TOMG will also sport a fully stacked bluetooth multiplayer mode. We’re not sure how it works, but if multiplayer modes in other games are anything to go by, it should be awesome! (Think Mario Kart meets Counter-Strike and you’ll be on the right track.)

And as if that weren’t enough to make you strip naked and jump into a pool of Jell-O, Kolkom has informed us that SSR:TOMG has more than a few surprises in store for fans of the Sand Storm comic book – including previously unrevealed secrets about the Sand Storm universe, and Princess Anumari in particular. What secrets are those? Who knows! But we’ll definitely be playing the game (or visiting Gamefaqs) to find out!

Although it’s still only early days, it’s obvious to us that SSR:TOMG is shaping up to be game of the year. With its in-depth story based on one the world’s most popular comics, and unique blend of action and gameplay, it’s all but guaranteed to be the killer-app mobile gamers have been looking forward to for so long.
