KO? by zephrania

Mercy! Marche has been run through! Murdered by wicked souls, jealous of his soft metal hairdo and mighty gorilla arms! One of which appears to be cybernetic!

I am unable to explain this drawing.

Now this is a good picture! It’s well-drawn, and the colouring is subtle but effective – the green-tinted areas leading the eye around the picture; Marche’s pale skin and blue eyes drawing focus to his face. Also note the artist’s (probably instinctive) use of the rule of thirds.

Technical merit aside, this picture succeeds because it’s a simple idea done well. It’s not crowded; it uses colour conservatively and effectively; and it tells a little story, despite featuring no action. This isn’t a great artwork, but it’s definitely good, and the secret to good artwork is – keep it simple!

FFTA - Showdown by arkant-wing

This is the most ho-hum “showdown” I’ve ever witnessed. It’s as though Ritz and Marche are aware they’re not having a real battle, but a turn-based, role-playing battle instead. Just sort of standing there, touching their swords together, Ritz half-heartedly muttering, “Okay, cling clang cling clang – now roll for damage.” And Marche is miles away, fantasising about dirty sex with a Viera.

(The Final Fantasy race, not the model of television.)

Let’s end once again with a poem. This comes to us from self-described “rising poet/songwriter” A M Howell, a young lady of honesty, strength, faith in Jesus, and confused lesbian feelings.

Saving Grace by mormonchick1005

(I mean Mormon Jesus, of course, not regular Jesus. Mormon Jesus is the one who took a detour through America on his way back to Heaven.)
