What about them videogames?

Personally, I'm more concerned about them bones. Them ... DRY bones.
Yeah, I'm worried about bones too.
I'm worried about foreigners blowing up my children.
I like videogames.

Do you remember Chibi-Robo for Gamecube?

There are no guns! It's WWWACKY! Wacky wacky woo woo hur hur Japan!

It was an odd, cute and colourful game. There exists a perception that the the wacky, fun-loving people of Japan play this sort of game almost exclusively. Actually, it sold a smallish amount here, and the American localisation also sold a smallish amount.

Anyway, it was made by a Tokyo-based company called Skip. They make fun and interesting games! They made six of the seven ‘bit Generations’ games for the GBA Micro market. They also made a sequel to Chibi-Robo for the DS. Oh the things they make!

Do you remember Giftpia, also for Gamecube?

There are colours! It's just like Animal Crossing! GUH DUH DUH DUH!!

It was almost localised but wasn’t. I don’t know why. Maybe because it has adult themes but looks like a children’s game. (You know how Americans can be.) Maybe because western reviewers persistently and inaccurately described it as “like Animal Crossing, except...” instead of appreciating Giftpia for what it is – that is, awesome.

Anyway, Skip made Giftpia. Like I said, they make interesting games. Skip is a name that I recognise!

Giftpia is my roommate Rebecca’s favourite game ever. You know that kind of very special favourite game – like, you might have other favourite games sometimes, but then you play your very special favourite game again, and you remember, “Oh, yes, of course! This is my favourite, so much.” Well Giftpia is Rebecca’s.
