A Trouserful of Melody: Fami-mode 2008

By Patrick Alexander on: 02/02/08 02:40:42 AM

A couple of other Fami-mode highlights were...

One band – I think it was Consumers, but I’m not totally sure – encouraging cheers for an encore at the end of their set, by displaying a ‘CONTINUE?’ screen on the projector.

During one of the DJ’s sets, the Zelda Rap Dance being played in sync with ‘Walk This Way’ by Run DMC and Aerosmith.

Following YMCK’s set, the last hour on the Fami-mode stage was given to the final matches of the Famicom tournament that had been running all night. The games played were, in order: Battletoads – I’m not sure, but possibly a bit of a wild card for Japanese players; American Gladiators, specifically the wall climb – definitely a wild card, and surprisingly compelling; and Balloon Fight, which is my new favourite spectator sport.

And then Fami-mode was over and we all went home! Now it is time for photos.

Here is a DJ!

This is the floor, before it got crowded:

Here are girls!!

Things for sale:

I don’t know any details about this, but: YMCK gachapon! Also other gachapon. Totally cool!

And because I know you want them, here are a few more shitty YMCK photos:

THE END

PS. Hey guys, would you like to WIN WIN WIN a copy of YMCK’s new album, plus some hella neato YMCK trinkets? Of course you bloody well would. Watch the Eegra.com front page for details, in the next few days!
