Eegra is bound by the National Privacy Principles (NPP) in the Privacy Act 1988.

The NPP relate to the collection, storage and use of personal information by businesses. This Privacy Policy describes how Eegra manages personal information.

‘Personal Information’ is information or an opinion from which an individual can be identified.

1. What Information do we collect?

When you register with us or provide content to us we will be able to collect some personal information from you including your email address and, in some instances, additional personal information.

In each instance, the information you are required to provide will be clearly stated at the time of collection. For example, our Registration Form sets out exactly what personal information we are asking you to provide.

User-generated content including, but not limited to, video and audio files may require the collection of additional information from you in order to ensure that the site and its users are protected and that no inappropriate material appears unchecked by us on our site.

We may also use cookies unless you have set your browser to decline them.

2. What happens to your Personal Information?

We use your Personal Information only to determine general demographic information through statistical analysis and not in any exercise that involves individual identification of our users.

This analysis allows us to determine what features of our site are most popular so that we can continue to deliver a site customised to our users’ interests.

We do not pass on your Personal Information to any third parties. In the unlikely event that we may request that any or all of your Personal Information be transferred to a third party, we will always reveal to you prior that explicit intention and you will have consented.

The only exceptions are circumstances wherein a) there is a breach of the Terms and Conditions of this site or our Privacy Policy b) we are required to comply with legal process served on Eegra or the site c) we are protecting our rights or property d) we are obliged to protect the personal safety of our users d) we are required, by law, to disclose information about you.

3. Other Information

Some of your information is automatically collected about your computer hardware and software during the process of data transmission between servers as you connect to our site. This information can include your log on times, IP address, referring websites, browser etc.

This information is only used as per Point ‘2’, above.

4. Message Boards/Discussions

Users who post on discussion boards should be aware that any Personal Information they choose to disclose to others in such a forum cannot be covered by our Privacy Policy – remember these are public spaces and, as such, your disclosures in these discussions may, and can, be collected and used by others.

5. External Links

Our Privacy Policy protects you at our site only and does not extend to other sites even if those links were accessed from our site. When you link to another site you should check that site’s specific Privacy Policy, if any, to determine how your Personal Information is collected, stored, used and protected.

6. Personal Information Collection and Journalism.

Journalists are not required by Privacy Laws to reveal the identity of sources.

Only Personal Information collected in the course of compiling information for the site will be disclosed and then only for the purpose for which it was collected.

Our journalists are obliged to exercise all reasonable care to ensure the Personal Information they use is accurate.

7. Security of your Personal Information

Your Personal Information is stored on our computer servers in a secure environment and is protected from unauthorised access. However, the Internet cannot be guaranteed to be 100% secure 100% of the time and whilst we are committed to protecting the unauthorised access of your Personal Information please be aware that any Personal Information you transmit to us is done so at your own risk.

8. Privacy Policy Updates

As our site grows and new features are added we will update our Privacy Policy to reflect those changes in relation to what Personal Information you are asked to provide, how we collect and use that information and how it is secured and stored.

You may request a copy of any Personal Information we have about you, at any time.
