Gamedaily knows what's wrong with game journalism, and how to fix it!

I wrote this thing during the afternoon today in my free time. I thought since you guys love gaming journalism so much you might be interested.

Gamedaily is one of those dime a dozen gaming sites that I've always just ignored. In fact it seems to acknowledge its lack of individualism by not even including its name in the front page's title, it identifies itself merely as "Video Games, Video Game Cheats & Free Downloads." But or some strange reason though I started browsing through it today. It turns out their senior editor, Chris Buffa, has been tackling the ever-present issue of game journalism's integrity since 06:

How to Become a Better Videogame Journalist

Sounds like some good advice to me. Being a journalist himself, I wonder how Buffa is doing his part in making the world of online videogame articles a better place. Lets take a look at some other features he's published since then.

A couple caught my eye at first, one is about CGI elf girls. Ok I guess having a polygonal pointy ear fetish is alright. In this article he gets a little bit more specific and picks which videogame girl has the hottest feet, hair, mouth, navel, and so on. Yeah, ok.

It turns out he's fond of real girls too. "Babes Playing Games" is a list of girls in game ads with comments explaining what he thinks is so sexy about them. Most of them aren't even trying to use sex appeal, so I guess this guy just loves ogling any human female. Page 6 looks a little underage too.

So does this guy like things besides girls? Apparently he does! 2008 Games We Stopped Playing isn't about girls, but it's still another list. Gaming journalism sure does need more lists! This time its a list of every heavily marketed game this year with a brief explanation of why it actually sucks. Pretty edgy. Apparently Mirror's Edge sucked because Faith wasn't sexy enough for his sophisticated taste in women. He thinks her tattoo is good looking though.

There are tons of other articles too written by various people. They sure love top X list of random game things, including:

Hairiest chests in videogames
Ways to die in videogames
Buffest men in videogames
Advertisements in videogames
Reasons Resident Evil 5 will suck

I thought I had seen it all when I finally stumbled across Babes We'll Wait For. Once again this is Buffa writing it, and these are the underage videogame characters he wants to undress. What the fuck.

I only looked at a tiny portion of this site and I'm afraid to go any further out of fear that my primitive brain will melt at the sight of Buffa's vastly superior game journalism skill. I'm sure this is only a taste of the genius he has to offer the gaming community.

Awesome! I wrote this all pretty quickly in one sitting so I'm sure a rewrite would improve it.

I'm sure there's plenty more stuff to be found on the site. His three articles on how to fix journalism are pretty bad too. The advice he gives is stuff like "use better grammar," "write original content," and more extremely basic stuff any lowest common denominator moron could think of.
